Promises of Life is a ministry dedicated to helping men in area prisons, as well as the families of the prisoners. The various outreaches of the ministry include but are not limited to the following:

          1. Prison Visitation Ministry.

          2. Prison Bible Teaching Ministry.

          3. Assistance to inmates families while the inmate is incarcerated.

          4. Assistance to inmates released from prison.

          5. Preparation of inmates for release back into the outside world after their sentence is served.

Ministry Mission:

Our ministry title is an umbrella under which many ministries are functional at present and many more are projected to come on line in the future. This ministry is dedicated to the total restoration of inmates either in the penal system incarcerated, on work release, out of prison on parole or out of prison as a result of a fully served sentence.

Ministry Directive:

This ministry exists to be a "rubber meeting the road" day to day working ministry. We spend many hours a week helping released inmates get jobs, indigent or needy people receive help, food, shelter as they have need of. This ministry is a passionate, productive working organization determined to make a difference in every need and every situation as is possible.

Every Man Must Take Responsibility for His Actions

We believe that men incarcerated for crimes must face the reality of bad decisions that put them in jail to begin with. We believe these men must face up to the responsibility for their own actions. No one else is to blame. However, with this realization, we temper this requirement to face up to the reality they have created with a hand up to help them become what they were not before. It is essential to us every inmate we work with face the reality of his choices and take responsibility for them. We then show them Jesus Christ alone can bring about the life change they must experience as they are "born again" and changed into a new creature in Christ. The other contributing factors to the old life can be dealt with and overcome if a man has a relationship with Christ. Christ alone can break the cycle of crime and punishment.

Our Ultimate Goal-Rehabilitation God's Way!

This is really the larger part of our vision and mission is to complete the process the penal systems attempts to accomplish in rehabilitation of the inmate. We believe in the power of Christ to change a man from a criminal nature to a productive and law abiding citizen. We work with the men to provide the full range of assistance from prerelease to fully trained and gainfully employed after release.
